Euljiro has a daytime character and a night character, and they are genuinely different. The industrial trades close. The lighting district opens fully. The beer alley fills up indoors. Here is a timed route for the neighborhood's best hours, as of July 2026.
6pm–7pm: Lighting district at dusk
Start at Euljiro 3-ga Station and walk toward Euljiro 4-ga. This is the hour the lighting district activates. Fact About 300 specialty lighting shops line this stretch, and the window displays — chandeliers next to stage spotlights next to LED strips — only make full sense once the sun goes down. Walk slowly. This is not a rush-through segment.
7pm–9pm: Beer alley and Sewoon Sangga
Head to the nogari alley and find indoor seating at a surviving pub. Order nogari and a draft beer — that remains the anchor menu. Then check Sewoon Sangga: Est. part of the elevated walkway is scheduled for demolition in July 2026. What's still walkable after dark offers a quiet view over the old industrial core of the city.
After 9pm: Cheonggyecheon
Walk east toward Cheonggyecheon Stream. The restored urban waterway runs through the bottom of the neighborhood and offers a quiet close to a dense evening. Fact Seoul consistently ranks among the world's safest cities for night walking — no special precautions are needed beyond ordinary awareness.
