If this is your first time in Euljiro, don't waste time deciding where to start. Fact Exit 11 of Euljiro 3-ga Station puts you within walking distance of the neighborhood's four most distinctive zones. Follow the 90-minute route and you'll leave with an honest picture of what this place actually is.
Start: Exit 11, Euljiro 3-ga Station
Head north and the smell shifts — less coffee, more paper and toner. That's the printing alley. Peer through the open shopfronts and you can often trace a single order moving from one small shop to the next: design, plate-making, press, binding. Spend about 15 minutes here. You're walking through an industry that traces its roots to 1403.
Second stop: the beer alley (Nogari Alley)
Fact Outdoor seating permits were cancelled in November 2022 — so skip the old street-party image and head inside. Order nogari (dried pollak) and a draft beer. That's the anchor order at every pub here. Eulji OB Bear, the alley's founding pub, closed in 2022 after a building dispute. When choosing a pub, consider one that isn't part of the dominant chain.
Third stop: Sewoon Sangga
Take the stairs up to the elevated walkway and Seoul's old industrial spine opens below you. Est. A 112-meter section near Sampoong Sangga is scheduled for demolition in July 2026 — this timeline has slipped before, but the direction is clear. Walk what's still there, and glance into the electronics stalls below.
Last stop: the lighting district
Move toward Euljiro 3-ga and 4-ga stations around dusk. Roughly 300 specialty lighting shops line this stretch, and the display windows only make full sense after dark — chandeliers next to stage spotlights next to bare LED strips, all within a few meters of window.
